Quick Facts

One-sentence Description: Humazing is a web2.0 take on World Records where members create, attempt and judge world records.
Concept Genesis:

The idea came from a fish (Kurt is Piscies starsign, any connection??). A family fishing day saw a 'Family Record' set for the largest flathead fish caught.

A child asked, "what is the world record for the largest flattie?" Which spawned (no pun) the idea for a centralised source of everyday achievements for everyday people.

The commercialisation of the idea was based on combining the best of the Internet elements: web2.0 community managed content, YouTube video's, global information sharing, and connecting people. Furthermore, the idea harnessesed the 5-minutes of fame phenomenon and the competitive spirt of being the best.

Founded By: Kurt Lingohr, 36, married father of four. Works from home and lives by the beach 2 hours out of Melbourne, Australia, on the Mornington Peninsula. Closed his Melbourne CBD office several years ago and did a 'sea change' (downsized lifestyle).
Owned By: Privately owned by Lingo Systems Pty Ltd (100%), an Australian-based web-development company owned and operated by Kurt who has designed and built systems for some of Australia's large corporate entities.
Technical: • Took 2 months to design and build (one person, Kurt.)
• Built using Microsoft ASP.NET v2 Framework (Visual Basic), MS Ajax extensions and MS SQL Server 2005 using the free publicly available tools offered by Microsoft.
Statistics: • # records created - TBA
• # records attempted - TBA
• # members - TBA
statistics will be released after being operational for a sufficient amount of time
Enhancements Planned:

Primarily, localisation of the scope of a record (we Aussies spell some words with a "s" and not a "z"). That is, offer 'local' records alongside 'world' records. For example, club/group record for the longest golf tee shot, country/national record, school/community records. Then face-off country against country, fishing club against fishing club, and so on.
